Blog Assignment #5: Fungi Field Trip (individual)
Make sure to label your blog post with the label: Fungi-Fun
Procedure: Post at least one photo that you took on the fungi field trip. This must be your own photo, not a photo taken by a classmate. If you photographed an organism, try to identify the organisms to the best of your ability and tell us what resources you used to ID your organism. Answer the questions below. You will be assessed on meeting the assignment requirements (1 or more photo, addressing the assignment questions, and your reflection on the assignment.
Questions:
- Discuss at least 2 organisms (fungi, plant, animal) that you saw on the fungi field trip. Tell us at least one thing you learned about that organism. I learned about ferns. I knew what they look like but I did not know their function. I learned that they are vascular seed less plants that they. There is a picture here from a fern.
- And also I learned about micorrhizea system and how huge they are. this is the reason that we have air to breath.
- Here is an example of micorrhizae system in just in small portion of soil
- Did you learn something about fungi or plants that surprised you? I did not even know how important they are in our life. without them we could die because the supply the plants for us and plants supply everything for us. Now I can respect them more.
- Reflection: What was something that you observed on the fungi field trip? What was something you learned? Before this trip I did not know a lot about fungi. But I learned How important they are in our ecosystem and also in our life. We can not even live without them because they support the nutrient for plants which make oxygen for us. I saw a lot of microhysaral in the soil an we also found a mushroom which we were lucky because it is not the season.
- Write at least 3 scientific questions based on your observation.
- dose fungi can be effective inside the water or it it only under the ground?
- What can destroy the microhizea?
- If we have a same mushroom 10000 km away from the other one does it mean the microhizea are connected?
- Write 1 hypothesis based on the questions above.
- If we find a mushroom with similar to the other one but too far from each other there might be a posibilty that they are all from a same microhizea.
I wish that I could see your lovely photos but they are broken links. :(
